The New Zealand Tango Festival is New Zealand’s largest cultural tribute to the music and dance of Argentina. The annual week-long festival provides educational workshops, two-day intensives, and private lessons with internationally renowned teachers, for all levels of dancers, from all nationalities.

Every evening the grandest of Milongas are filled with Argentine orchestral music and dance from the 1920s-1960s. If you’ve never tried Tango before, come along to one of our free classes for beginners. If you would just like to watch the beautiful Tango dancing, including performances by our international teachers, you can attend the Friday and Saturday night formal Milongas for a full immersion experience. Come and be part of the community, everyone is welcome.

The New Zealand Tango Festival is a not-for-profit charitable trust registered in 2013. All cash donations received are tax-deductible. We rely on volunteers to organise and run our events. If you would like to donate time or money, please email us.
